Meet Dan Toporek

Dan Toporek is running for State Senate in Legislative District 2, continuing a lifelong commitment to service shaped by his Arizona roots and a family devoted to public service. His father served in the U.S. Army, his mother was a teacher, and his brothers were first responders. Dan followed in their footsteps by joining the U.S. Marine Corps, later becoming an Attack Helicopter Pilot in the Army and serving in the Arizona National Guard both at home and abroad.

After retiring from the military, Dan continued to serve his community through roles with U.S. Senator Mark Kelly and the Federal Aviation Administration. Now, he’s focused on real solutions that strengthen public education, expand access to healthcare, support working families, and protect democracy, because he believes leadership means putting people before politics and building a better future for all.

Dan’s Priorities

  • Strong Public Schools

Education isn’t charity—it’s how we defend our future. We’ll pay teachers what they deserve, give kids real tools to succeed, and make our schools places of pride.

  • Cost of Living and Affordability

It’s time we stand up for working families, not just the well-connected. Arizonans work hard and deserve the freedom to build a good life, not to be crushed by housing costs and medical bills.

  • Healthcare

Ensuring access to affordable healthcare for all, including mental health services and ensuring that Arizona women and their families can make their own decisions. No one should have the government in the exam room with them.

  • Environment and Water Security

Our land is sacred. And we must manage it with discipline. I'll work to protect Arizona's most precious resource, our water—not sell it off to foreign corporations.

  • Safe Communities and Secure Borders

As a veteran and a father, I believe in safe neighborhoods and secure borders. We can be tough without being cruel. We can enforce laws and still treat people fairly and with humanity, and we must take care of the first responders that ensure our safety all day every day.
